COORPAROO JUNIOR AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL CLUB CODES OF CONDUCT

Through the Coorparoo Junior Australian Football Club, we endeavour to teach and support our junior and youth players, not only on the field, but also in their daily lives. To do this we need to be committed to modelling the types of behaviours we espouse.

Club Officials Code of Conduct

  • Ensure that equal opportunities for participation are made available to all children.

  • Condemn any unsporting behaviours and promote the respect for all participants involved in our game players, coaches, umpires, officials' volunteers, and families.

  • Investigate all incidents from a witnessed or reported breach of these Codes of Conduct and take reasonable steps to amicably resolve the breach.

  • Ensure all Club participants understand their responsibility to these Codes of Conduct.

Players Code of Conduct

  • Play for the game for your enjoyment and personal development on and off the field.

  • Play by the rules. Always accept the official's decisions and do not argue about any decisions made.

  • Refrain from any verbal or physical abuse towards any other player or official.

  • Be a Team Player by respecting your teammates, coaches, opponents, and officials.

  • Treat all players fairly and as you would like to be treated.

  • Be a good sport at all times and thank your opponent and officials after the game - without them there would be no match.

  • Remember that you are representing the Club - be responsible for your actions at all times and cooperate with your coach, teammates, and officials.

Coaches Code of Conduct

  • Respect all participants and refrain from any discriminatory practices.

  • Abide by and teach the AFL laws of the game along with the rules of our Club.

  • Keep up to date with current coaching principles, skill development and team play.

  • Ensure equal game time for all players as best as possible with the players available in each game, and the player positional game requirements

  • Be supportive of all participants at all times, and refrain from any form of verbal or physical abuse.

  • Always show consideration for players well-being and varying levels of ability and maturity.

  • Monitor and ensure the safety of players in your care, and report any concerns to club officials

  • Role model and teach positive sporting behaviour, ensuring players understand and practice fair play

  • Ensure players experience a positive training and game day environment where skill and player development are priorities and not overshadowed by a desire to win at all costs.

Parents, Carers & Spectators Code of Conduct

  • Children play organized sport for fun. They are not playing for entertainment of spectators only, nor are they miniature professionals.

  • Never ridicule or scold a child for making a mistake during a match. Positive comments are motivational.

  • Show respect for your team's opponents, coaches, and officials - without them there would be no match.

  • Applaud good performances and efforts by your child's team and their opponents.

  • Encourage to always play by the rules and always accept any officials' decisions.

  • Condemn the use of violence in any form, be it spectators, coaches, officials or players.

  • Recognise positively the invaluable contribution of voluntary officials, coaches, and administrators.
